Our duck products win medals at the Concours Général Agricole

Esprit Foie Gras duck foie gras medals at Concours Général Agricole

In 2024, two Esprit Foie Gras products were once again awarded medals at the Concours Général Agricole! This year, our whole semi-cooked foie gras from Gers duck was awarded a Silver medal. Our pure duck rillettes were awarded a Bronze medal.

An opportunity to take a look at what these medals mean to us. But, above all, to understand what they mean for you, duck product lovers.

Concours Général Agricole medals: awards for the best French products

This year's Concours Général Agricole took place from February 24 to March 3. For over 150 years, this renowned competition has been rewarding the best products and animals from our terroirs. Each year, a jury made up of professionals and consumers awards three types of prize, under government supervision:

  • Medals (Gold, Silver and Bronze)
  • Diplomas
  • Trophies for excellence

Only high quality products with unique flavors, close to excellence, receive medals. In 2024, over 21,000 products and wines took part in the competition. In the end, medals are awarded to less than one product in four. And at Esprit Foie Gras, we're right up there, with two of our duck products winning medals!

"To win, it's not enough to be good, you have to be the best!"

The Concours Général Agricole is highly selective. In fact, the medals awarded to our whole semi-cooked duck foie gras and our pure duck rillettes are a real guarantee of quality for you, the consumer.

Because they were chosen from dozens of other products, you can be sure that our medal-winning products are among the best in their category. The hand-picked jury takes into account a very precise set of criteria: shape, color, texture, smell, taste... everything is reviewed.

If our whole semi-cooked duck foie gras and our pure duck rillettes have won awards at the Concours Général Agricole, it's because we take great care over the quality of our ingredients. Our ducks are raised in the hills of the Gers. What's more, we prepare our products using know-how acquired over several generations. In the Gers, and at Esprit Foie Gras in particular, foie gras-making is a true family tradition! We perpetuate the recipes, passing on the secrets of perfect seasoning as a family. And that makes all the difference.

If you're looking for some of the best duck foie gras in the Gers, awarded a medal at the Concours Général Agricole, and particularly well seasoned, you've come to the right place.

Our semi-cooked duck foie gras is available in 250g and 450g vacuum packs. Or opt for our whole foie gras in 130g jars, awarded the Silver Medal in 2023.

Our hand-frazzled, bronze medal-winning rillettes of pure old-fashioned duck are available in 250g jars.

Our other products are just as tasty! While you're ordering our duck foie gras or rillettes, which won medals at the Concours Général Agricole, try our duck confits or ready-made meals.

We deliver all over France , respecting the cold chain, so go ahead, duck can be enjoyed all year round!
